Quote of the Day

"Yesterday is not ours to recover, but tomorrow is ours to win or loose."

Fenn Rolls the Dice

On Friday, Varsity Hockey went out for their first game against Fessenden. Fessenden has been rivals with Fenn for a number of years and the boys feel really confident that this will be the year they beat them.

Last year Fenn went to the annual Fenn Hockey Tournament in great shape. They had not lost a game and they felt as though this was their time to take home the cup. Unfortunately they met Fesse in the finals and after countless overtimes Fenn made a small error and Fesse capitalized on it. Fesse had a 2-0 breakaway and ended up scoring. Fesse won the game as well as the tournament and left Fenn's hockey team shattered.
"This year though the story was going to be different," said 9th grader Peter Blunt before the game.
So on Friday, an epic Fenn vs Fesse match up went on and on. Fesse scored first but every move they made Fenn retaliated. At the end of the first period the score was 3-2 Fessenden was on top. Mr. Boonisar the head coach for Fenn said that the boys were playing really well, they just need to focus on the prize.
And so Fenn jumped out and scored quickly in the second period tying the game up at three a piece. But towards the end, the game slowly slipped away from Fenn and they let up two unfortunate goals.
Fenn went on to loose 7-5 against the Fess but Zeke Golnik a star center for the team said in his announcement today that the boys played their hearts out and that it was a good game by all.
The Fenn Varsity Hockey team will go out once again against Fessenden this time on their turf. We hope to see that epic match up once again, the real Yankees vs. Redsox rivalry continues.
